<>Ahlan-wa-sahlan <> Welcome <> Bienvenido <> Bienvenue<> [] WHAT IS ARABIC-BUSINESS [] The Arabic Business world is one of the most ancient. The oldest known traders have been Arabs. They took the 'zero' and modern mathematics from ancient India to Europe. They introduced many inventions to the world. They developed sophisticated trading styles, mechanisms, markets, exchanges and accounting. Arab business world's history is, indeed the very first chapter in the economic history of the world. Western business world have never attempted to explore the beauty of Arabic Business. The world can learn lots of things from ancient Arabic style of business. The modern Arabic-business has been hindered by a set of obstacles and the world in general has a very unclear picture of this very important and essential part of the world economic system. To understand Arabic-Business and explain in plain language - that is one of the most important objective of Arabic-business. The concept of Arab world - is a misunderstood term. [] What is Arab World [] Arab Nationalism have had all kind of advocates including monarchs, secularists, democrats and dictators. The ARAB nationalism is a recent phenomena and its earliest creation was a new "common" language by modernizing literary Arabic. That language is now a standard throughout the Arab World. Arabism is a concept, a myth, a feeling that binds all people in the Arabic world from Casa Blanca to Dubai and from Sanna to Damascus. Arabic is definitely more binding - than let us say - among Spanish language speakers. Simply by speaking Spanish you may not enter into a sub-culture of Latin America, whereas by speaking Arabic - even though with an accent - one finds more fraternity and friendship. Ibn-Batutta - the famous Moroccan - law student and traveler centuries ago, went around the world - and he found that Arabic cultural threads were binding most of the Arabic speakers in a vast area. Ethnically all Arabic speakers may not be Arabs but modern Arabic is the common lingua franca of a vast number of people which include Arabs, Ethnic African natives, Berbers, Kurds, Jews, Druze, 'Alawis, Armenians, Indians and many other communities. [] What is the difference between Middle East and Arabic world [] Popularly the press has used the region comprising Egypt, The Arabian Peninsula, and the states of Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Israel, Jordan and Iraq - as MIDDLE EAST. Mistakenly and by sheer ignorance - the world has been using the term Middle-East for Turkey, Iran, Libya and other countries of Maghreb (North Africa.) Turkey and Iran - have nothing to do with Middle East or Arabic culture except the religious beliefs. For centuries the Europeans used the term Near East for some of these areas. During World War II - the British called their military headquarters as the Middle East Command - and after that it has become a more used term. Middle East is a wrong and incorrect term for a vast region which we prefer to call Arabic World. A new Arab nationalism gained ground in 1980s based on regional economic integration & the free movement of people and capital. Groupings like Gulf Cooperation Council (1981) and The Arab Maghreb Union (1988). This great trend has been recently hit due to some people's great love to preach even in the market, authoritarian nationalism and unexpected behavior of Mr. Saddam Hussein of Baghdad. But these challenges and some others will not stop the flow of markets to sweep the region and we are sure that, once again a common Arabic market will be a reality. The Arabic world's business is called ARABIC-BUSINESS. The Arabic world is very rich in culture and business is just another dimension of culture - the life of market, street is as much as part of culture as literature, customs and other cultural expressions. There is a deep vacuum of economic information from Arab world. Arabic-business will try its best to fill that "gap" and hopefully will provide enormous business opportunities it presents.
